City, county, state and federal land managers want to know something simple: are the projects they fund actually being used?
Unlike hard-surface users who are highly visible, trail users can be nearly invisible. Why?
Even our most popular system FATS is tucked away off the beaten path. You park, ride/run/step into the woods, and disappear into the forest. That is part of the magic. The same goes for our more remote trails like Keg Creek and Horn Creek.
But here is the challenge: while our trail community continues to grow, that growth is not always visible to the people making funding and land-use decisions. From their perspective, it can look like usage is flat. After all, aren’t over 100 miles of trail enough?
We know the truth. Our trails are more popular than ever, and use continues to expand. But when we advocate for new projects, expansion, or increased maintenance, it often comes down to one thing: numbers.
Who do we represent? How many of us are there?
Right now, our membership numbers do not reflect the true size of our trail community. That invisible growth needs visible representation on the SORBAcsra rolls.
Land managers want to support recreation, but they also need to know which communities are organized, engaged, and growing.
That is where you come in.
For just $39 individual or $50 family, you can join SORBAcsra and directly support the future of mountain biking, trail running, and hiking in our region. Every trail we build and maintain is multi-use, and every one depends on your support to grow and stay healthy.
Today kicks off our Spring Membership Drive.
Join or renew now, strengthen our voice, and help ensure continued investment in the trails we all use and love. You will also be entered into the membership raffle for some great prizes.
Help us make the invisible visible!
