Tower Trail is OPEN!

Tomorrow marks exactly 1 year and 9 months since Hurricane Helene tore through our trails.

Today, we are excited to announce that Tower Trail is officially OPEN! Help spread the word.

With today’s final trail blowing completed and approval from the USFS, the last remaining closed trail at FATS is once again ready to welcome mountain bikers, runners, hikers, and everyone who enjoys these incredible trails.

Tower Trail proved to be our most ambitious recovery project, requiring months of assessment, tree removal, rootball extraction, tread reconstruction, drainage improvements, corridor clearing, and countless hours of volunteer effort.

With this milestone, all six trails at FATS are now open.

This accomplishment belongs to every volunteer who gave their time, every sawyer who cut trees, every person who moved logs and rootballs, rebuilt tread, cleared drains, mowed, trimmed, blew the trail, hauled tools, or simply showed up ready to help. Together, you accomplished something extraordinary.

Thank you as well to the USFS for their partnership throughout this recovery and for approving today’s reopening.

If you’ve been waiting to ride, run, or hike Tower Trail again… your wait is over.

The trail has been tidied up. Now it just needs wheels and feet!
