The Augusta Canal Trail is ready for fall! A fantastic team of volunteers came out to mow, trim and tidy things up for one last big maintenance push before the season changes.
Our Augusta Canal Trail Champions, John Pilcher and Drew Jordan, work hard to keep this urban gem in great shape. If you haven’t joined the Wednesday night ride from Andy Jordan’s Bicycle Warehouse, be sure to check it out. It’s a great way to experience the trail with a group and see if it’s a ride you’d enjoy! https://www.andyjordans.com/pages/events/
A big thank-you to the Sunday Bike Club for bringing a crew out to lend a hand! If you haven’t checked them out yet, head over to their Facebook page. They love riding a lot and everyone is welcome from beginners to expert! They do a lot of local trails and also plan scheduled trips to ride out of town.
And then there was Marshall Snead, who slipped in through the back door (literally!) and tackled the overgrowth in that area. He was armed with a push mower and got the job done! Be sure to check out that before-and-after photo. Talk about making a difference!
It truly takes a community to keep this awesome urban trail in great shape, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who showed up, worked hard and braved the heat and humidity to get the job done.

Thank you all for helping keep the Augusta Canal Trail ride, run and hike ready! ![]()
We’ll be back in October for some additional tidying up ahead of the FATS Flow Master and FATS 50K+, so stay tuned if you’d like to lend a hand!
This is what happens when a community comes together.
