Connector Routes

Connector routes chain together multiple trails for a more challenging ride. These routes may use a combination of paved and gravel or pavel roads to allow you link two or more trails. Use caution when attempting these rides. Georgia summers may make these longer rides especially dangerous. Many of these routes have limited cell coverage and limited physical access. These routes are best attempted in a group with extra resources. If you chose to attempt one of these routes alone please make sure someone is aware of your start time, start location, estimated end time and your route.

Christmas Party Ride: Chain together Keg Creek and Mistletoe State Park for an approximately 25 mile ride.

Bartram/Keg Lollipop: There and back ride from West Dam to the Keg Creek Parking lot for a total of 50 miles.

Thurmond Epic: Bartram, Keg Creek, and Cliatt Creek Nature Loop and Rock Dam trails inside Mistletoe State part for a grand total of 67 miles.

Christmas Party Ride

‘Cause I always think of Mistletoe at Christmas, and I’ve been to plenty of parties that had a Keg.’ -BV

Route Map

Directions are starting at the main Keg Creek parking lot, clockwise on Keg. Ride the loop inside Mistletoe however you like.

  1. Start by riding from the main Keg parking lot down Washington road across the bridge. Ride Keg Creek clockwise
  2. Approximately 8 miles into the ride the trail will be right on the edge of the lake and a rutted out 4-wheeler path will intersect the trail from the left
  3. Turn left up this 4-wheeler path.  Follow the path UP HILL – any turn you make should go up
  4. You will end up in the cul-de-sac of Keg Pointe Dr.  Go down the road
  5. Turn left onto Reservoir Rd
  6. Turn right onto Wickham Dr
  7. Turn left onto Eubank Dr
  8. Turn right onto Ray Owens Rd
  9. Turn left onto Ridge Rd
  10. Ridge Rd becomes gravel
  11. Stay left when road forks at white gate; go around the gate
  12. Stay left at the fork after the gate
  13. Turn left onto the Rock Dam Connector singletrack near the bottom of the hill
  14. Ride the Cliatt Creek/Rock Dam loop inside Mistletoe then ride back to the Keg Creek trail the way you came
  15. Turn left onto Keg Creek trail where the 4-wheeler path meets it. 
  16. Ride Keg Creek for 1 mile clockwise back to the main Keg parking lot.

Bartram/Keg Lollipop

Route Map

Directions are starting at West Dam Recreation Area and clockwise on Keg. 

  1. Ride Bartram Trail all the way to Washington road
  2. Cross Washington road and enter Keg Creek trail traveling clockwise
  3. Ride the entire Keg Creek loop
  4. From the Keg Creek main parking lot travel to Washington road
  5. Turn left on Washington road and cross the bridge
  6. Turn left to cross Washington road and enter Bartram trail heading towards Wildwood park
  7. Ride Bartram trail back to West Dam Recreation Area

Thurmond Epic

Route Map

Thurmond Epic is a combination of the Christmas Party Ride and the Bartram/Keg Lollipop.

  1. Begin riding Bartram trail from the West Dam Recreation Area
  2. Turn Right to ride Lake Springs Loop counter clockwise
  3. Turn Right to return to Bartram
  4. Ride Bartram Trail to Washington road
  5. Cross Washington road and enter Keg Creek trail traveling clockwise
  6. Ride the entire Keg Creek loop
  7. From the Keg Creek main parking lot travel to Washington road
  8. Approximately 8 miles into the ride the trail will be right on the edge of the lake and a rutted out 4-wheeler path will intersect the trail from the left

  24. Turn left to cross Washington road and enter Bartram trail heading towards Wildwood park
  25. Ride Bartram trail back to West Dam Recreation Area.
  26. Do not ride Lake Springs Loop a second time.
