The teams have been on fire, working hard to reclaim the Tower Trail before the heat and humidity settle in for the season.
Today could not have been better for trail work. Temperatures in the 60s, a light breeze, overcast skies, and just enough humidity to keep things comfortable. That combination let the crew stay out on the trail for over 4½ hours and knock out all 12 planned projects on this section, plus a bonus project.
One of the highlights of the day came when John and Kent headed off to tackle a downed tree while Julie and Angela jumped into the first rootball project. We may officially have two “Rootball Queens” in the making. These two worked the tools, including a reciprocating saw, freed the rootball, rolled it off the trail, and fully restored the tread.
Huge thanks to all of today’s rootball kings and queens!
